New Work: 2007/2008

In my 2007/08 paintings I started exploring quantum physics as a lens to look at "how we look" at the world, ourselves, and the stories that make up that identity. I’m not sure what led me to this, but for a year I researched quantum physics as a layperson, including the 'many worlds theory', as these theories challenge the linear narratives that glue our worlds together. These paintings explore this transition from classical to quantum physics by looking at iconic literature and myths. Blending painting and stencils is a tool I use to invoke the quantum element in each narrative by repetition. The 80’s mythology is my own.
