"A world ends when its metaphor has died... It perishes when those images, though seen, No longer mean."
Ashley MacLeish

Media used: pigment ink in pen and brush on paper.

Influences: Religious texts, mythological texts including Joseph Cambell, Friedrich Schelling, Dantes Inferno, The Bhagavad Gita, and the Bible. Political resources including the Australian Anti-Terrorism Bill. I have also looked at legal documents from a cultural/textual perspective.
Many of the drawings look at the intersections of the personal and political as an entry point into deeper societal and spiritual myths and their symbols.

Period Created: Perth, Western Australia (2006)
